While the DESERT FOX is mainly a finishing machine used in conjunction with a sluice box or other concentrator, you can also use it to prospect for gold. Simply set up the machine and take a few samples systematically and observe which samples contain the most colors. Set up your concentrating equipment near the test hole with the best show of gold. Tests show that the DESERT FOX can also be used to recover high specific gravity precious stones too. When used for this purpose it is necessary to screen the material to a point where only particiles of the same size are processed together. This is because the specific gravity of diamonds, sapphires and other precious stones is not nearly as high as gold.
